What is the nonprofit management
certificate program?

The certificate program in nonprofit management at South Dakota State University is affiliated with American Humanics, a national organization dedicated to preparing students for careers in nonprofit service agencies.  The American Humanics program at SDSU is an interdisciplinary program designed to provide students from a variety of disciplines including, but certainly not limited to Human Development, Consumer Science, Journalism, Business Administration, Political Science, Computer Science and Marketingfor meaningful careers in the management of nonprofit agencies. Students who enroll in the program work toward certification from American Humanics by meeting a variety of curricular and co-curricular requirements.

Because AH is an interdisciplinary program it works in conjunction with your current major. Upon completion of the AH program, students receive an American Humanics Certificate in Nonprofit Management in addition to their bachelor’s degree.

A meeting with the AH Campus Executive Director is required to determine if your selected internship can meet the requirements for both AH and your Major. The American Humanics Portfolio provides information on other requirements.
